It was a muggy, rainy Friday afternoon ... the region's effort to clean up the air has worked so well that lichen cover every possible surface. This makes treated wood trim on brick sidewalks particularly treacherous.  Perhaps you don't have to be the world's klutziest person to earn a permanent stainless plate with seven screws and temporary (thank goodness!) wheels with a 50 pound cast just walking out your own back door
