Under convenience time and materials contracts, it is Abator’s understanding that Client Management is ultimately responsible for determining how it will address Software Quality Assurance and Independent Verification/Validation issues. When permitted, we introduce our Lolopop methodology and approach to Quality Management. Quality Management Office (QMO)’s dual focus combines a Process QA tightly integrated with its Project Management Office (PMO) and Software QA using domain specific methodologies to assure that client input is maximized, deviations from expectations are minimized and that problems are realistically resolved Lolopop focuses on what works, not what sounds good.

In its own development efforts, Abator treats Independent Verification and Validation as a separate project, driven by goals that are distinct from development team efforts. However, like a development activity, the IV&V of a system must be planned and executed efficiently. To be most effective, the IV&V team members should have intimate, unbiased participation in the requirements definition, design reviews, code inspections, and configuration change decisions while adhering to ISO standards and SEI practices.

When Abator undertakes a software quality assurance effort, it use Lolopop and follows the key process activities, such as:

• Develop the QM/QA plan for the software project.

• Perform QM/QA activities in accordance with the QM/QA plan.

• Participate in the preparation and review of the project software/system development plan, standards and procedures.

• Review the software engineering/system development activities to verify compliance.

• Audit designated software/system work products to verify compliance.

• Report the results of these activities to the software engineering/system development group.

• Document deviations identified in the software/system activities and work products.

• Review activities and findings with stakeholders, developers and QM/QA personnel as appropriate.
