The risks perceived as significant to the success of a project on the client side include: stakeholder resistance and funding issues, neither of which the vendors can control. Vendors, however, can exercise best efforts to gain stakeholder confidence by developing a respected professional rapport with the stakeholders. Relative to funding, best cost-benefit evaluations must be conducted to ascertain the most cost effective, efficient solutions.
On the vendor side, the risks include technical competency of the individuals assigned and potential turnover of assigned resources (addressed in business continuation). Technical competency is addressed by Abator in many ways:
