The world is full of questionable vendors/brokers and consultants, resulting in a need to perform extensive reference checking.  Abator makes the following guarantees ...

From a consultant's perspective the guarantees include:

• Abator pays at least 75% of the billing rate to the consultant. 

• Abator makes payments every two weeks.

• Abator does not submit any consultant to any client without the consultant's prior approval.

• Abator does not market its services to consultant references.

From a client's perspective the guarantees include:

• Abator candidates will be competent with the development or support tools required by the client.

• Abator candidates will have some knowledge of the of the development or support tools desired by the client.

• Abator candidates will not be submitted without completion of a background reference check consisting of at least three recent supervisors.

• When appropriate complete background, clearance and drug screens will be conducted.

The defining characteristic of Abator is that we know the people we represent.  It follows that our policy on references is critical.  Many clients require copies of those references when considering which consultants they wish to interview.  And, certain local, state and federal clients require that these references be submitted with any response we make to requests for quotes or proposals.

This means Abator will not submit any consultant's background or resume to any client until we have first completed a reference check.  We will speak with these people only once and keep the information they share on file for future use.  We will also provide a copy of each reference checked, on letterhead, when requested to any consultant so that s/he may use the resulting documentation as a formal letter of reference.

All consultants are assured that reference name and contact information is not used for any purpose beyond collecting a past performance evaluation of technical and professional experience.  Abator does not use reference information to promote itself.

Some consultants may prefer to provide references only once an interview is pending.  However, this will create delays and/or will eliminate potential candidacy for most Abator projects.
